A lot of people I know say laptops are becoming obsolete, and they’re right. But honestly, I would rather use a laptop than an iPad. What’s the best Apple laptop that isn’t too expensive? I would mainly use it for writing and playing games.

I bought a Sony Vaio laptop computer from best buy and had them install security software(0). However the battery doesnt last very long–maybe an hour and a half, so I want to return it. The return policy is 14 days, with a 15% restocking fee(unless there is a defect) on opened laptops. My question is–is the battery not lasting too long considered a defect, and if so is the 0 software refunded as well?

Now I’ve never had a problem setting up a wireless network. I’ve done it for many people and know the basic diagnostic tests to run to figure out the problem, but I am currently baffled. For some reason, my computer has stopped connecting to my wifi network. As soon as I try to connect, I get this, "sorry windows could not connect to the network." No error message or anything. This makes no sense, because my xbox connects perfectly fine, as does my mobile telephone, and other laptops on the network. I’ve tried removing the network from the computer and re-adding, I’ve tried re-installing the wireless router (all connections work except for my computer), and I’ve tried changing the security (from WPA to no security). Also, it’s not my wireless adapter because I can connect to any wireless network, but the one at home. Please help.
Thank you for the response. I already have the router set as a DHCP server, so it should automatically assign my addresses. And like I said, every other computer/device on the network is functioning.
Parents, parents, parents. Uhhhuhfhf I’m a 13 year old boy in grade 8 who, from some jobs I have done ( mowing, painting ect. ) would like to buy a laptop computer. My current desktop only has 512 mb and uses Linux operating system. It’s also useful at school, where due to budget cuts, we have to share computers. I would just buy one on eBay, for about 200$. But my parents are reluctant because we already have a lot of computers, ( older laptops and new desktops.). We have about 10 computers but they are old and slow. How can I convince my parents? Why are parents so unreasonable,
